Urdu Quality Lead for AI Training and Localization
Overview
As a remote Urdu Quality Lead, you will guide quality and consistency across Urdu AI training projects for a distributed contractor team. You’ll review AI training content and trainer outputs, measuring them against project rubrics and delivering precise written feedback. Develop and maintain style guides and rubrics for Nastaliq script conventions and RTL formatting to ensure culturally appropriate output. Coordinate with teammates on Discord and Google Docs to keep documentation current and ensure timely quality updates.

- 1Spot-check Urdu items for accuracy, voice, and cultural context against project rubrics and escalate recurring patterns.
- 2Share new guidelines and workflow updates with trainers and QAs on Discord and in documentation.
- 3Answer questions about Urdu wording, register, and Nastaliq formatting with clear, timely feedback.
- 4Re-engage contributors who are inactive, monitor availability, and flag blockers to maintain steady workflow.
- 5Create and maintain Urdu project documentation, including style guides, FAQs, trackers, and onboarding materials.
- 6Lead onboarding calls to align teams on project rubrics, Urdu script requirements, and quality expectations.
- 7Ensure consistent application of Urdu language guidelines as projects evolve across domains.
- 8Identify recurring quality gaps and propose scalable QA processes for Urdu language projects.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urdu, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 2 Native or near-native Urdu proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
- 3Strong English language skills to follow project guidelines, communicate with teams, and provide feedback in English.
- 43+ years of professional experience in Urdu writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
- 5Strong understanding of Urdu grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, tone, register, cultural context, Nastaliq script conventions, and RTL formatting.
- 6Comfortable handling Pakistan Urdu, India Urdu, formal/literary Urdu, and conversational usage, depending on project requirements.
- 7Ability to evaluate Urdu content against detailed rubrics and identify issues such as mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, incorrect register, script/formatting problems, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
- 8Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 9Comfort working in remote environments using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
- 10Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, honeypots, and other quality documentation.
- 11Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt/response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong plus.
