This hourly remote contract places you as a Urdu Language Expert focused on reviewing AI-generated Urdu content and crafting high-quality Urdu reference material. You will judge outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, and tone, delivering precise written feedback to guide model improvements. Your work will consider Nastaliq script conventions and RTL formatting to ensure authentic Urdu presentation. By producing clear rewrites and model answers, you help AI models meet cultural and linguistic expectations across audiences.
What You'll Do6
- 1Review AI-generated Urdu content for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural alignment, then provide precise written feedback and actionable edits.
- 2Create high-quality Urdu reference material and model answers across domains such as general knowledge, customer support, and education to guide model behavior.
- 3Evaluate AI outputs and rank them for fluency, meaning preservation, register consistency, and correct script formatting.
- 4Detect unsafe or misleading content, bias, mistranslations, or culturally inappropriate phrasing; log findings and remediation steps.
- 5Apply rubric-based evaluation to compare multiple responses, documenting results and best-practice examples for future tasks.
- 6Adapt content to audience-specific registers, including formal and literary Urdu as well as Urdu-English code-switching, and perform factual checks when needed.
Requirements8
- 1native or near-native urdu proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
- 2strong professional english proficiency at c1 or higher to follow guidelines and provide feedback in english.
- 33+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content qa, journalism, education, or related language-focused work.
- 4deep understanding of urdu grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, nastaliq/script conventions, right-to-left formatting, tone, and style; able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it.
- 5comfortable handling multiple registers including formal/literary urdu, conversational urdu, pakistan urdu, india urdu, and urdu-english code-switching.
- 6high attention to detail for subtle meaning shifts, awkward translations, gender or verb agreement issues, and culturally mismatched phrasing.
- 7reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- 8prior experience with ai data training/annotation, translation qa, editorial qa, localization qa, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
