What You'll Do8
- 1Monitor Catalan items to identify quality issues and provide clear feedback via direct messages.
- 2Communicate project updates, new item guidelines, and quality expectations to trainers and QAs on Discord.
- 3Answer trainer and QA inquiries about Catalan wording, accentuation, variant forms, and cultural context with precise guidance.
- 4Proactively reach out to inactive contributors to re-engage them and track availability for project continuity.
- 5Create and maintain Catalan project documentation, including style guides, FAQs, quality notes, and onboarding materials.
- 6Lead onboarding and training sessions to explain expectations, workflows, rubrics, and Catalan-specific style requirements.
- 7Ensure consistent application of Catalan language guidelines as projects evolve across teams.
- 8Identify recurring quality gaps and propose scalable QA process improvements for Catalan-language work.
Requirements10
- 1bachelor's or master's in Catalan, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, english, education, qa, or related field
- 2native or near-native Catalan with strong reading and writing skills
- 3proficient English to follow guidelines and communicate with teams
- 41+ years of professional experience in Catalan writing, editing, translation, localization, content qa, ai training, annotation, or related language workflows
- 5deep knowledge of Catalan grammar, spelling, punctuation, accentuation, geminated l·l, apostrophation, weak pronouns, gender and number agreement, tone and cultural context
- 6ability to distinguish Central Catalan, Valencian, and Balearic variants and apply IEC/AVL standards
- 7capacity to evaluate Catalan content against rubrics and identify mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, castellanismes, diacritics errors, pronoun usage, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology
- 8experience supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs preferred
- 9highly detail-oriented and organized, able to maintain style guides, trackers, onboarding materials, and quality documentation
- 10experience with ai training, data annotation, LLM qa, or rubric-based evaluation is a strong plus
