What You'll Do10
- 1Spot-check anthropology items, identify quality issues, and provide actionable feedback via direct messages on Discord.
- 2Evaluate AI-generated anthropology explanations, ethnographic summaries, and cultural analyses for accuracy and sensitivity against project rubrics.
- 3Update trainers and QAs on Discord about new guidelines, workflow changes, quality expectations, and anthropology-specific review standards.
- 4Respond promptly to questions about cultural context, ethnographic concepts, ethics, representation, and rubric interpretation.
- 5Manage activation and follow-ups for contributors who are inactive or unavailable.
- 6Create and maintain anthropology project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, and onboarding materials.
- 7Lead onboarding sessions with trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, workflows, rubrics, and quality standards.
- 8Monitor consistency of anthropology review guidelines as projects evolve and scale.
- 9Flag ethnocentric, stereotyping, or ethically problematic content for review and remediation.
- 10Propose workflow improvements to scale QA processes for anthropology AI training projects.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, Sociology, Area Studies, Museum Studies, or closely related field.
- 2Strong English proficiency to follow project guidelines and provide clear written feedback.
- 33+ years of experience in anthropology research, teaching, ethnography, archaeology, museum/heritage work, cultural analysis, academic writing, fieldwork, or related workflows.
- 4Deep understanding of anthropological theory, cultural relativism, ethnographic methods, kinship, ritual, language and culture relationships, material culture, human evolution, archaeology, ethics, and representation.
- 5Ability to evaluate content against rubrics and identify issues like cultural stereotyping, ethnocentrism, outdated terminology, methodological errors, or ethically problematic framing.
- 6Familiarity with ethnography, participant observation, archaeological methods, human origins, kinship systems, religion/ritual, migration, colonialism, Indigenous studies, museum ethics, or linguistic anthropology is preferred.
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of researchers, educators, reviewers, fieldworkers, annotators, or QAs.
- 8Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.
- 9Highly detail-oriented with the ability to maintain style guides, onboarding materials, calibration tasks, and documentation.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, social science QA, academic review, cultural sensitivity review, or rubric-based review is a strong plus.
