Tamil Linguistic QA Specialist

What You'll Do9

• Spot-check Tamil items on a regular cadence, log the defects you find, and send feedback to contributors through direct messages.
• Escalate repeated or serious quality problems to project leads before they spread across a batch.
• Post guideline changes, workflow updates, and quality expectations for trainers and QAs in Discord channels.
• Answer questions about Tamil grammar, register, translation fidelity, regional variation, and cultural nuance.
• Track down inactive contributors by DM, encourage them back to work, and flag availability gaps to the team.
• Build and maintain Tamil style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots, quality notes, and onboarding decks.
• Run onboarding and training calls that walk trainers and QAs through rubrics, workflows, and Tamil-specific style rules.
• Check that every trainer and reviewer applies the same Tamil guidelines as projects change.
• Study recurring quality gaps and propose workflow fixes that hold up as more Tamil projects launch.

Requirements8

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Tamil, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a closely related field.
• Native or near-native Tamil reading and writing ability.
• English strong enough to follow written guidelines, run meetings, and give precise feedback.
• At least 3 years of professional work in Tamil writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, teaching, annotation, or a similar language review role.
• Deep command of Tamil grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, regional variation, and cultural context.
• Skill at judging Tamil content against rubrics and naming problems such as mistranslation, literal phrasing, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, dashboards, trackers, and project management tools in a remote setting.
• Organized enough to keep style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and honeypots current.

Preferred Qualifications2

• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
• Background in AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt and response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.
