Malayalam Linguistic QA Specialist

What You'll Do9

• Spot-check Malayalam items and trainer or QA submissions for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, cultural fit, meaning, formatting, and rubric compliance.
• Send targeted feedback through DMs and flag repeated or serious quality problems to the right owner.
• Post guideline changes, workflow updates, and quality reminders to trainers and QAs on Discord.
• Answer questions about Malayalam wording, register, translation fidelity, Kerala usage, diaspora usage, and edge cases.
• Contact inactive contributors by DM, encourage renewed activity, log follow-ups, and report availability concerns.
• Write and maintain Malayalam style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Schedule and lead onboarding and training calls that cover expectations, workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and Malayalam style requirements.
• Check that trainers and QAs apply language guidelines the same way and understand each project update.
• Find recurring quality gaps and propose workflow changes that make Malayalam QA easier to scale.

Requirements8

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Malayalam, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near-native Malayalam reading and writing ability.
• Strong English skills for reading guidelines, coordinating with teams, and writing clear feedback.
• 3+ years of professional work in Malayalam writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or language review.
• Solid command of Malayalam grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, regional variation, and cultural context.
• Skill at judging Malayalam content against detailed rubrics and catching mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Comfort with remote coordination tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
• Strong organization and attention to detail for style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and honeypots.

Preferred Qualifications2

• Experience leading or supporting remote trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QA staff.
• Background in AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt and response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.
