Overview

Turing seeks a senior JavaScript/React engineer to join its AI training team. You will build datasets that train, benchmark, and improve large language models, with a focus on ReactJS and JavaScript alongside Python, C/C++, Java, Rust, and Go. Your work includes curating code examples, writing precise solutions, and correcting AI-generated code. You will also create automated verification tools and assess model performance across the software development lifecycle. This is a flexible remote contractor role for US-based engineers.

What You'll Do6

  • Curate code examples and craft solutions primarily in Python, with additional work in JavaScript (including ReactJS), C/C++, Java, Rust, and Go.
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated code to ensure it is efficient, scalable, and reliable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI-driven coding solutions against industry benchmarks.
  • Build agents and automated verification tools in Python that check code quality and spot error patterns.
  • Form hypotheses about steps in the software engineering cycle (prototyping, architecture design, API design, production implementation, launch, experiments, monitoring, maintenance) and test model capabilities on them.
  • Design automated verification mechanisms that can confirm a solution to a software engineering task.

Requirements6

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in Python with deep knowledge of frameworks, tooling, and best practices for production software.
  • Experience building full-stack applications and deploying scalable software using modern languages and tools.
  • Solid grasp of software architecture, design, development, debugging, and code quality/review assessment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for clear, structured evaluation rationales.
  • Must be based in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications2

  • Shipped high-impact products at fast-moving companies like Stripe, Airbnb, Cloudflare, Datadog, or Coinbase.
  • Graduated from leading programs such as Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, or University of Pennsylvania.

Who Should Apply

Candidates with at least 3 years of software engineering experience who are fluent in JavaScript/React and Python. The role suits engineers who have shipped high-impact products at high-growth companies and can assess code quality across the full development lifecycle. US-based engineers comfortable with a flexible contractor schedule.
