R QA Lead for Remote Data-Analysis Projects Contract
Overview
This remote, hourly contractor role places you in charge of R quality assurance for AI training initiatives focused on data-analysis workflows. You will review R code, assess statistical reasoning, and verify reproducible workflows against client guidelines. Collaborate with remote trainers, analysts, and QA peers, delivering precise feedback and maintaining onboarding materials. Your guidance helps ensure clear documentation and standardized outputs that meet client expectations.
What You'll Do9
- 1Spot-check R programming outputs and data-analysis steps for accuracy.
- 2Review R code, statistical explanations, visualizations, data-wrangling steps, and modeling workflows.
- 3Communicate project updates and R-specific standards on Discord.
- 4Answer trainer and QA questions about R syntax, packages, reproducibility, and rubric interpretation.
- 5Direct message inactive contributors and track activation milestones.
- 6Create and maintain R documentation, style guides, examples, trackers, FAQs, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
- 7Lead onboarding calls and training sessions for R contributors.
- 8Flag misleading statistical claims, invalid methods, non-reproducible workflows, or hallucinated packages/functions.
- 9Suggest improvements to QA processes based on recurring gaps.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, computer science, economics, biology, social sciences, or a related quantitative field.
- 2Strong English proficiency to follow guidelines and provide clear feedback.
- 33+ years of hands-on experience with R for data analysis, statistics, or research.
- 4Deep knowledge of R syntax, data frames, vectors, functions, lists, factors, missing data, tidyverse, base R, statistical modeling, and visualization.
- 5Ability to identify issues such as incorrect statistical assumptions, invalid package usage, non-reproducible code, data leakage, flawed transformations, hallucinated functions, or misleading charts.
- 6Familiarity with dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, readr, stringr, purrr, data.table, Shiny, R Markdown/Quarto, caret/tidymodels, lme4, survival, Git, and reproducible workflows is preferred.
- 7Experience leading remote teams of trainers, analysts, reviewers, educators, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 8Comfortable with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and PM systems.
- 9Highly organized with ability to maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, code QA, or rubric-based review is a strong plus.
