Computer Science Team Lead for QA in Remote Contract
Overview
This hourly, remote contractor role leads quality assurance across computer science and IT training programs, software content, and system workflows. You will review AI training content and LLM evaluation outputs, assessing explanations, code snippets, and troubleshooting guidance for accuracy against rubrics. Provide precise written feedback and keep trainers and QAs aligned through updates on Discord about guidelines and quality standards. A strong foundation in CS/IT, excellent written English, and meticulous attention to detail ensure effective coordination of remote contributors.
What You'll Do11
- 1Spot-check CS and IT items for quality, provide ongoing feedback via DMs, and escalate recurring issues with clarity and timeliness (focus on CS and IT quality).
- 2Assess AI-generated explanations, code snippets, system-design content, and security guidance for accuracy and clear reasoning (highlight AI-generated explanations and security considerations).
- 3Provide timely guidance to trainers and QAs on Discord about new item guidelines, workflow changes, and quality expectations (keep communications concise and actionable).
- 4Answer technical questions on programming concepts, debugging steps, IT workflows, and rubric interpretation with precise guidance (emphasize programming concepts and rubric interpretation).
- 5Reach out to inactive contributors, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues to maintain project momentum.
- 6Create and maintain CS/IT project documentation, including style guides, onboarding materials, and calibration tasks.
- 7Lead onboarding calls to explain project expectations, rubrics, and technical review requirements to new contributors (onboarding calls).
- 8Monitor consistency of CS/IT guidelines across trainers and QAs as the project evolves and updates are issued (CS/IT guidelines).
- 9Flag misleading, unsafe, or outdated recommendations and suggest corrective actions (unsafe and outdated).
- 10Identify recurring quality gaps and contribute to scalable QA process improvements (quality gaps, QA process).

Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, data science, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2Strong English language skills to follow project guidelines, communicate with teams, and provide clear written feedback.
- 33+ years of hands-on experience in software development, IT support, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, data workflows, QA, or related technical-review workflows.
- 4Solid CS/IT fundamentals: programming concepts, algorithms, data structures, operating systems, databases, networking, APIs, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- 5Ability to evaluate technical content against rubrics and identify issues such as incorrect logic, flawed steps, or insecure recommendations.
- 6Familiarity with Git/GitHub, IDEs, terminals, Linux/Windows/macOS, SQL, REST APIs, Docker, cloud platforms, and ticketing systems.
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of engineers, IT specialists, reviewers, annotators, trainers, or QAs is highly preferred.
- 8Comfort with fast-moving remote workflows using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and project-management tools.
- 9Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation practices, including style guides, FAQs, onboarding materials, and calibration tasks.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based review is a strong plus.
