Policy Administration & Insurance Operations Manager | $800 One-Time Remote
Overview
Insurance operations professionals will design realistic policy-processing scenarios for an AI lab training frontier models on the policy lifecycle. The work covers application intake, binding, issuance, endorsements, certificates, billing, audits, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and policy-document delivery. You will write golden reference responses at experienced insurance-operations quality and grade AI outputs against rubrics for procedural accuracy, completeness, sequencing, and service standards. The engagement is remote, task-based, and open to candidates in the US, Canada, or the UK, with a minimum of 20 hours per week expected.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build realistic scenarios for application intake, binding, issuance, endorsements, certificates, billing, audits, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and policy-document delivery.
- 2Produce operational work products such as processing instructions, transaction reviews, exception-handling plans, service communications, and quality checks.
- 3Write golden reference responses that meet experienced insurance-operations standards.
- 4Score AI-generated responses against structured rubrics for procedural accuracy, completeness, sequencing, and adherence to service standards.
- 5Flag errors like incorrect effective dates, missing documentation, improper transaction handling, and confusion between operational steps and underwriting decisions.
- 6Deliver written feedback to the research team that informs model improvements.
- 7Take part in onboarding office hours and calibration sessions to align on grading standards.
Requirements6
- 1At least 2 years of professional experience in policy administration, underwriting operations, insurance servicing, premium operations, or policy-processing management.
- 2A working knowledge of the chronological policy lifecycle from intake and binding through issuance, servicing, renewal, termination, and record retention.
- 3Hands-on experience with policy administration systems, workflow queues, transaction controls, or quality-assurance processes.
- 4The ability to convert policy and procedural requirements into precise operational steps.
- 5Strong written communication and process discipline with high attention to detail.
- 6The ability to separate administrative execution from underwriting, claims, legal, and actuarial decisions.
Who Should Apply
An insurance operations professional who has lived inside the policy lifecycle and can reproduce its procedural details in writing will thrive here. Underwriters or claims adjusters who focus on decision-making rather than administrative execution will find this role a poor fit. Candidates often get rejected when they cannot point to concrete examples of handling endorsements, cancellations, or billing transactions, or when they mix underwriting judgment into operational steps. Those who treat the writing component lightly also score low, because the position demands precise, structured communication.
Salary Insight
Pay is a one-time $800 fee for the task-based engagement. Since the minimum commitment is 20 hours per week, your effective hourly rate depends on how quickly you complete the work and how many weeks the engagement runs.
