Overview
As a remote, hourly contractor, you will lead QA for Nepali language work at SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and a SuperAnnotate subsidiary. You will review Nepali content produced by AI and assess trainer and QA outputs against project rubrics to ensure accuracy, fluency, and cultural relevance within the Devanagari-script. You will provide targeted, written feedback and maintain style guides, onboarding materials, and quality notes to support scalable QA across distributed contributors. Communication happens through Discord, Google Docs, and project dashboards, guided by clear English-language guidelines to keep cross-team work cohesive. The role emphasizes precise language evaluation, tone, and translation QA for AI training data.
What You'll Do8
- 1Spot-check Nepali items and identify quality issues, delivering ongoing feedback via DMs and escalating recurring patterns when needed.
- 2Update trainers and QAs on Discord about new item guidelines, project changes, workflow updates, quality expectations, and Nepali review standards.
- 3Respond clearly to trainer/QA questions about Nepali grammar, Devanagari script, honorifics, terminology, and translation fidelity with practical guidance.
- 4Activate or re-engage contributors through direct messages, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues when necessary.
- 5Create and maintain Nepali project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
- 6Schedule and run onboarding and training sessions with trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, rubrics, quality standards, and Nepali language requirements.
- 7Ensure consistent application of Nepali language guidelines across projects and communicate updates as projects evolve.
- 8Escalate recurring mistranslations, unnatural phrasing, hallucinated claims, cultural mismatches, or guideline confusion to project leads and suggest workflow improvements.

- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nepali, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 2Native or near-native Nepali with strong reading and writing skills.
- 3Strong English proficiency to follow guidelines, communicate with teams, and provide feedback in English.
- 43+ years of professional experience in Nepali writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
- 5Solid understanding of Nepali grammar, Devanagari script, honorifics, postpositions, verb forms, tone, and cultural context.
- 6Ability to evaluate Nepali content against rubrics and identify issues such as mistranslation, unnatural phrasing, or inconsistent terminology.
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 8Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project-management systems.
- 9Highly detail-oriented and organized; capable of maintaining style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, quality notes, and calibration tasks.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, prompt/response evaluation, localization QA, translation QA, or rubric-based LLM review is a strong plus.
