Naval Subject Matter Expert Cleared for Pentagon Projects
Overview
Remote role supporting a high-impact Navy-focused project at the Pentagon. You will bring deep naval expertise to train next‑generation AI systems by shaping how models learn, reason, and perform through practical, real‑world input. Prior AI experience isn’t required; your domain knowledge and clear, actionable insights drive decisions in a secure environment. Expect to translate fleet, program, or intelligence experience into concise analyses and briefings for senior leaders. Bold domains: naval operations, doctrine, and intelligence affairs.
What You'll Do6
- 1Develop expert analyses on naval platforms, operations, and doctrine informed by direct fleet, program, or intelligence backgrounds.
- 2Synthesize classified and open data to produce recommendations that support Navy planning and requirements.
- 3Write crisp, actionable assessments and deliver high‑level briefings for senior military and civilian leaders.
- 4Coordinate with Navy, DoD, Intelligence Community, and industry partners to gather insights and align with mission goals.
- 5Explain recent naval capability and maritime security developments in the context of the customer’s objectives.
- 6Manage and protect TS/SCI materials according to facility and project security protocols.
Requirements7
- 1Minimum 10 years in U.S. Navy, MARAD/DOT, or equivalent maritime/defense roles; senior rank or recognized subject‑matter expert.
- 2Active TS/SCI clearance preferred; at least Secret clearance within 24 months with eligibility for TS/SCI reinstatement.
- 3Proven briefing and written communications for executive or flag‑level audiences in defense or government settings.
- 4Experience with Pentagon processes, OPNAV, NAVSEA, or PEO environments and cross‑stakeholder coordination.
- 5Strong track record of analytical judgment in classified or high‑stakes projects.
- 6Intelligence community background or exposure is a strong asset.
- 7Master’s degree in national security, defense studies, or engineering is desirable.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate brings extensive maritime or defense sector experience and current or recent eligibility for high‑level clearances. If you lack senior briefing experience or have no exposure to Pentagon workflows, this role is likely not a fit. Candidates without a TS/SCI or imminent reinstatement plan may face a fit gap. Common reasons for lower fit include limited experience with classified environments or minimal engagement with cross‑agency coordination.

Pay ranges from 50 to 100 per hour; compensation will be discussed during the offer process.
