Medical Specialist
Listing checked October 12, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 is hiring Internal Medicine specialists to support a customer project on inpatient care and documentation standards. You will apply your adult inpatient clinical training to help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn and reason from real-world medical input. The work involves reviewing medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, and checking whether clinical information and claims are supported. This is a remote contractor role based in the United States.
What You'll Do6
- 1Review medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, for AI training purposes.
- 2Verify that clinical information and claims are supported by the medical record.
- 3Examine inpatient adult medicine documentation such as HPI, PMH, medication reconciliation, social history, assessments, and plans.
- 4Apply clear guidelines and maintain consistent standards across all reviews.
- 5Flag missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information in medical records, including renal- and hepatic-adjusted dosing, medication interactions, and age-appropriate clinical details.
- 6Provide feedback to help improve AI models and data quality.
Requirements7
- 1MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine (or Internal Medicine with a Hospital Medicine focused practice designation).
- 2At least 5 years of hospitalist experience.
- 3Current or recent inpatient hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.
- 4Strong grasp of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows, including admission, daily progress notes, transitions of care, and discharge.
- 5Comfort reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data.
- 6High attention to detail and ability to follow clear guidelines consistently.
- 7Experience with chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role suits board-certified Internal Medicine physicians with at least five years of hospitalist experience and recent inpatient work within the last two years. You should be comfortable reading raw medical record data, including FHIR and clinical notes, and applying documentation standards across admissions, progress notes, and discharges. Candidates without current or recent inpatient hospitalist experience, or those who lack board certification in Internal Medicine, are less likely to fit. A common reason applicants get rejected is not meeting the minimum weekly task submission requirement. Another is showing unfamiliarity with inpatient documentation details like renal- and hepatic-adjusted dosing or medication interactions.
Salary Insight
Compensation is $80 to $125 per hour, paid per task that meets project specifications. The time to complete work varies by experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply, and experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.
