Hospitalist Physician
Listing checked October 10, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 is bringing on Hospitalist Physicians to support a customer project centered on inpatient care and documentation standards. Your clinical knowledge will go directly into training next-generation AI systems, helping models learn how to reason through real-world medical scenarios. Day to day, you will review FHIR data, clinical notes, and inpatient records to check that the information holds up. This is a remote contractor role where your findings and feedback shape both model quality and data accuracy.
What You'll Do7
- 1Examine medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, to support AI training efforts.
- 2Verify that clinical information and claims match what the medical record actually shows.
- 3Go through inpatient documentation such as HPI, PMH, assessments, and care plans.
- 4Apply project guidelines the same way across every record you review.
- 5Flag missing, wrong, or conflicting details inside medical records.
- 6Pass along feedback that helps improve AI models and overall data quality.
- 7Keep the project team informed about your work and what you find.
Requirements7
- 1MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Hospital Medicine.
- 2Inpatient or hospitalist experience that is current or within the last 2 years.
- 3Solid grasp of inpatient documentation practices and hospital workflows.
- 4Able to read clinical notes and raw medical record data without difficulty.
- 5Careful attention to detail and the discipline to follow clear guidelines the same way each time.
- 6Chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA experience is a plus.
- 7Background working across different inpatient services or specialties is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a board-certified Hospitalist or inpatient physician who has been active within the last two years and is comfortable reading raw clinical notes, FHIR data, and hospital documentation. If you have done chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA, your background lines up well with what the project needs. The work suits someone who can apply the same rubric across many records without drifting. It is less suitable for physicians without recent inpatient experience or for anyone who prefers direct patient care over detailed record review. Candidates often get rejected when they cannot show recent hospitalist work or when their documentation review experience is too thin to demonstrate consistent guideline adherence.
