What You'll Do8

- 4Create high-quality rewrites and model answers that demonstrate best practices in Maltese writing across registers.
- 5Identify unsafe content, factual hallucinations, bias, and mistranslations; validate reliability across use cases.
- 6Document linguistic guidelines and contribute to rubric-based evaluation, style guides, and terminology management.
- 7Collaborate with AI data teams to ensure consistent Maltese terminology and correct use of loanwords.
- 8Provide ongoing QA checks for translations and localization tasks to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, and tone.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Linguistics, Maltese Language, Maltese Literature, or related field.
- 2Native or near-native Maltese proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
- 3Strong professional proficiency in English, minimum C1.
- 43+ years in writing, editing, localization, translation, or content QA.
- 5Deep understanding of Maltese grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, Semitic roots, Romance and English loanwords, verb forms, articles, prepositions, tone, and style; able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it.
- 6Comfortable handling multiple registers including formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, public-facing Maltese, and Maltese-English code-switching.
- 7High attention to detail for subtle meaning shifts, awkward translations, or culturally mismatched wording.
- 8Reliable, self-directed remote contractor delivering consistent quality in hourly work across time zones.
- 9Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, localization QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
