Remote, hourly contract for a Malay QA Lead who oversees quality, consistency, and trainer performance across AI training projects. What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct ongoing quality monitoring of Malay training items, flag issues, and provide written feedback to contributors.
- 2Coordinate with remote trainers and QAs on Discord to share new item guidelines and quality expectations.
- 3Answer trainer and QA questions clearly, focusing on Malay wording, tone, and cultural context, with guidance in English.
- 4Manage activation management by DMing inactive contributors, tracking follow-ups, and flagging availability issues.
- 5Create and maintain Malay project documentation, including style guides and quality notes.
- 6Lead onboarding calls to explain project expectations, rubrics, and Malay-style requirements.
- 7Ensure consistent application of Malay language guidelines as projects evolve.
- 8Identify recurring quality gaps and propose scalable QA workflows for Malay-language projects.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Malay, Bahasa Melayu, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or related field.
- 2Native or near-native Malay proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
- 3Strong English proficiency to follow guidelines and provide feedback.
- 43+ years of professional experience in Malay writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
- 5Solid understanding of Malay grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, formal/informal usage, and cultural context.
- 6Experience with Malaysian Malay, Brunei Malay, Singapore Malay, and English loanword/code-switching while maintaining project guidelines.
- 7Ability to evaluate Malay content against rubrics and identify issues like mistranslation, literal phrasing, or inconsistent terminology.
- 8Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 9Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
- 10Detail-oriented with ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and quality documentation.
- 11Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM QA, or prompt evaluation is a strong plus.
