Life Sciences AI QA Lead for Remote Contract Work
Overview
As a contract Life & Environmental Sciences QA Lead, you’ll oversee quality for AI training data across biology, ecology, and environmental science projects. You’ll review AI-generated content in life sciences to assess accuracy and rigor, delivering precise, rubric-aligned feedback to remote trainers and QAs. Coordinate with teams on Discord and Google Sheets to share guidelines, track quality, and keep onboarding materials up to date. Your work helps ensure training data is clearly explained, evidence-based, and ready for leading foundation-model programs.
What You'll Do11
- 1Spot-check life and environmental science items for quality, flag issues, and provide ongoing feedback to trainers via direct messages; escalate persistent or high-risk problems when needed.
- 2Evaluate AI-generated biology, ecology, environmental science, and sustainability explanations for accuracy and scientific rigor, ensuring alignment with project rubrics and client expectations.
- 3Communicate guidelines, workflow changes, and quality expectations to trainers and QAs on Discord; update style guides, FAQs, and calibration notes to support consistent review.
- 4Respond to questions about biological concepts, ecosystems, data interpretation, and rubric interpretation with clear, actionable answers.
- 5Identify inactive contributors, prompt activation, and track follow-ups to maintain project momentum and balance workloads.
- 6Create and maintain project documentation, including style guides, trackers, onboarding materials, and quality notes for life/environmental science projects.
- 7Lead onboarding and training sessions with trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, rubrics, and review requirements.
- 8Ensure trainers and QAs apply life and environmental science guidelines consistently as projects evolve.
- 9Flag misleading environmental claims, unsafe recommendations, or misinterpreted data; propose corrective actions and safer alternatives.
- 10Identify recurring quality gaps and propose scalable QA improvements for AI training pipelines in life/environmental sciences.
- 11Maintain native fluency in Punjabi in communications with the team and contributors.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent professional experience in biology, environmental science, ecology, conservation biology, earth science, public health, agriculture, marine science, sustainability, life sciences, or related fields.
- 2Strong English language skills to follow project guidelines, communicate with teams, and provide clear written feedback.
- 33+ years of experience in life science research, environmental science, teaching, fieldwork, lab work, conservation, sustainability, science communication, academic review, or related scientific workflows.
- 4Extensive knowledge of biology, ecology, ecosystems, biodiversity, evolution, genetics, physiology, environmental systems, climate change, pollution, conservation, sustainability, and scientific methods.
- 5Ability to evaluate life/environmental science content against rubrics and identify issues such as incorrect biological claims, oversimplified ecological relationships, unsupported environmental claims, flawed causal reasoning, unsafe recommendations, or misleading data interpretation.
- 6Familiarity with tools or methods such as field sampling, lab techniques, ecological surveys, environmental impact assessment, GIS, statistics, climate/environmental datasets, literature review, or scientific visualization is preferred.
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of researchers, educators, reviewers, environmental specialists, annotators, trainers, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 8Comfortable working in fast-moving remote environments using tools like Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
- 9Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, calibration tasks, and documentation.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, scientific QA, environmental content review, academic review, or rubric-based review is a strong plus.
- 11Native fluency in Punjabi

Salary Insight
