Biomedical Engineering QA Lead Remote Contract Role
Overview
Support the quality of biomedical engineering AI training programs as a contract QA lead, remotely. You will oversee consistency across trainer and reviewer outputs, evaluating AI training-generated biomedical content for accuracy against rubrics. Provide precise written feedback to improve explanations, calculations, and regulatory documentation for medical devices. Lead remote teams and apply structured QA practices to ensure safe, clear biomedical reasoning in projects involving biomaterials, biomechanics, and medical devices.
What You'll Do9
- 1Spot-check biomedical engineering work, flag quality issues, and deliver actionable feedback via DMs while escalating critical items.
- 2Perform technical review of AI-generated explanations, biomechanics calculations, biomaterials discussions, and biosignal diagrams for correctness and clarity.
- 3Coordinate with remote trainers and QAs on Discord, updating guidelines, workflow changes, and quality expectations.
- 4Answer questions about engineering assumptions, units, regulatory references, and rubric interpretation with precise guidance.
- 5Reach out to inactive contributors to re-engage them, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues.
- 6Create and maintain project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, and onboarding materials.
- 7Lead onboarding sessions for trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, rubrics, and biomedical-review requirements.
- 8Ensure all teammates apply biomedical engineering guidelines consistently as projects evolve, and flag any risk or safety concerns.
- 9Suggest process improvements to scale QA workflows for AI training projects.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, medical engineering, biomechanical engineering, electrical engineering with biomedical focus, or mechanical engineering with biomedical focus.
- 23+ years of professional experience in biomedical engineering, medical devices, biomechanics, biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, clinical engineering, or related workflows.
- 3Strong English communication skills to follow project guidelines and provide precise technical feedback.
- 4Solid understanding of core topics such as biomechanics, biomaterials, medical devices, biosignals, imaging, tissue engineering, and biomedical data analysis.
- 5Ability to evaluate biomedical content against detailed rubrics and identify issues like incorrect assumptions, missing units, unsafe recommendations, or regulatory overclaims.
- 6Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, CAD/CAE tools, signal processing workflows, and ISO/FDA-related documentation.
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, engineers, or QAs.
- 8Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project-management systems.
- 9Highly detail-oriented with the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and calibration tasks.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based QA is a strong plus.
Who Should Apply
Biomedically experienced professionals who have led remote QA or trainer teams and understand rigorous regulatory expectations. They thrive on evaluating complex device content, maintaining thorough documentation, and guiding diverse contributors. Those without hands-on biomedical QA or remote-team leadership may struggle to meet project standards. Candidates who prefer on-site work or long fixed schedules may not fit a remote contract setup.
