- 2Evaluate AI-generated biology explanations, experimental reasoning, and terminology for correctness against project rubrics and expected standards, flagging inconsistencies.
- 3Communicate project updates and new guidelines to trainers and QAs through Discord and project trackers to align on quality expectations.
- 4Answer questions on biological reasoning, methods, safety concerns, and rubric interpretation with clear, concise guidance and documented rationale.
- 5Identify inactive contributors, initiate re-engagement, and track availability to keep QA workflows productive and evenly staffed.
- 6Create and maintain biology project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, and onboarding materials for new contributors.
- 7Lead onboarding and training sessions with trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, workflows, rubrics, and biology-specific review requirements.
- 8Ensure consistent application of biology guidelines across all contributors as projects evolve and new requirements are introduced.
- 9Flag unsafe or misleading biology recommendations, especially around lab procedures, biosafety, or health claims, to protect project integrity.
- 10Propose scalable QA process improvements by analyzing recurring quality gaps and refining workflow steps for biology AI training projects.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, ecology, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, physiology, or a closely related field
- 2Strong English proficiency to follow project guidelines and give clear scientific feedback in English
- 33+ years of professional experience in biology research, laboratory work, teaching, scientific writing, technical review, quality control, biotechnology, or related workflows
- 4Solid grounding in core biology topics such as cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, anatomy, developmental biology, and experimental design
- 5Ability to evaluate biology content against detailed rubrics and identify issues like incorrect assumptions, flawed reasoning, or misleading claims
- 6Familiarity with common biology tools/workflows such as laboratory documentation, microscopy, PCR/qPCR, sequencing, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, ELISA, bioinformatics basics, or literature review
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, researchers, or QAs is strongly preferred
- 8Comfortable working in fast-moving remote environments using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems
- 9Highly detail-oriented and organized, with ability to maintain style guides, trackers, onboarding materials, calibration tasks, and quality documentation
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based evaluation is a strong plus
Who Should Apply
Ideal candidates bring an advanced biology credential and at least three years in roles such as research, laboratory work, or scientific writing. They thrive in remote, distributed teams and communicate complex scientific feedback in English. They excel at applying detailed rubrics to biology content and can spot unsafe guidance or misleading terminology. This role may not be a good fit for applicants lacking hands-on biology experience or who are uncomfortable with remote collaboration and precise documentation practices.
