Overview
As a remote contract German QA Lead, you will drive quality across AI training data projects and ensure consistency in German content. You’ll review AI-generated material and guide trainers and QAs, delivering precise feedback aligned to project rubrics. You’ll build and maintain German language documentation, including style guides and onboarding materials, to support scalable QA workflows. Collaboration happens across a distributed team using Discord, Google Docs, and dashboards to keep DE, AT, and CH localization aligned.
What You'll Do8
- 1Spot quality issues in German AI training data and provide targeted feedback to trainers and QAs via Discord direct messages.
- 2Update trainers and QAs on new item guidelines, project changes, workflow updates, and quality expectations on Discord.
- 3Answer questions about German wording, tone, and localization nuances using detailed rubrics and documented guidelines.
- 4Activate inactive contributors, monitor follow-ups, and flag availability issues to keep the workflow moving.
- 5Create and maintain German project documentation, including style guides, FAQs, trackers, and onboarding materials.
- 6Schedule and run onboarding sessions to explain project expectations, rubrics, and German-specific style requirements.
- 7Ensure consistent application of German language guidelines across all German-language projects.
- 8Identify recurring quality gaps and propose scalable QA improvements for German-language tasks.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's or Master's degree in German, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or related field.
- 2Native or near-native German with strong reading and writing skills.
- 3Strong English to follow project guidelines, communicate with teams, and provide feedback in English.
- 43+ years of professional experience in German writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
- 5Solid grasp of German grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, compounds, cases, tone, register, and business writing norms.
- 6Ability to navigate Germany, Austria, and Switzerland German usage differences where relevant.
- 7Proven ability to evaluate German content against rubrics and identify issues like mistranslation, literal phrasing, or unnatural tone.
- 8Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 9Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments using Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
- 10Detail-oriented and organized with experience maintaining style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and other quality documentation.
- 11Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong plus.
Who Should Apply

Salary Insight
