Family Medicine Hospitalist
Listing checked October 10, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 seeks Family Medicine Hospitalist physicians to support a customer project centered on inpatient care and documentation standards. Your clinical background will help train next-generation AI systems by reviewing medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes. You will check that clinical information and claims match the record, and you will review inpatient documentation such as HPI, PMH, assessments, and plans. This is a remote contractor role with output-based pay.
What You'll Do7
- 1Examine medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, for AI training purposes.
- 2Verify that clinical information and claims are supported by the medical record.
- 3Review inpatient documentation, covering HPI, PMH, assessments, and plans.
- 4Apply project guidelines and maintain consistent standards across reviews.
- 5Spot missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information in medical records.
- 6Provide feedback that helps improve AI models and data quality.
- 7Communicate findings and progress with the project team.
Requirements8
- 1At least 5 years of hospitalist experience.
- 2MD or DO, board certified in Family Medicine or Family Medicine with a Hospital Medicine focus or certification.
- 3Current or recent inpatient or hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.
- 4Solid grasp of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows, including admission, daily progress notes, transitions of care, and discharge.
- 5Comfort reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data.
- 6Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clear guidelines consistently.
- 7Experience with chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA is a plus.
- 8Experience across a broad patient mix, such as adult medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or obstetric/newborn care, is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a board-certified Family Medicine physician with at least five years of hospitalist experience and recent inpatient work within the last two years. You should be comfortable reading raw medical record data, applying documentation standards, and flagging inconsistencies in HPI, PMH, assessments, and plans. Candidates with chart review, CDI, utilization review, or medical coding/QA backgrounds tend to stand out. The role is less suitable for physicians without current inpatient experience or those who prefer direct patient care over record review. A common reason candidates get rejected is falling short of the 5-year hospitalist minimum or lacking recent inpatient work. Another is not showing familiarity with inpatient documentation workflows like admissions, progress notes, and discharges.
