Overview
micro1 is bringing on Pediatric Hospitalist Physicians to support a customer project centered on inpatient care and documentation standards. Your pediatric clinical background will directly shape how AI models learn and reason from real-world medical input. Day to day, you will review FHIR data, clinical notes, and inpatient pediatric records for accuracy and completeness. The work is remote and output-based, with pay tied to tasks that meet project specifications.
What You'll Do7
- 1Examine medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, to support AI training efforts.
- 2Verify that clinical information and claims align with what the medical record actually shows.
- 3Audit inpatient pediatric documentation such as HPI, PMH, birth and developmental history, immunization status, assessments, and plans.
- 4Apply project guidelines the same way across every record you review.
- 5Flag missing, incorrect, or inconsistent details, including weight-based dosing and age-appropriate clinical information.
- 6Provide feedback that helps improve AI models and overall data quality.
- 7Keep the project team informed about your findings and progress.
Requirements8
- 1At least 5 years of hospitalist experience.
- 2MD or DO with board certification in Pediatrics, or Pediatrics plus a Pediatric Hospital Medicine subspecialty certification.
- 3Current or recent inpatient pediatric hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.
- 4Solid grasp of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows, covering admission, daily progress notes, transitions of care, and discharge.
- 5Comfort reading clinical notes and raw medical record data.
- 6Keen eye for detail and the ability to follow clear guidelines without deviation.
- 7Chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA experience is a plus.
- 8Broad pediatric patient mix experience, such as general pediatrics, newborn/nursery care, pediatric subspecialty co-management, or complex chronic conditions, is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a board-certified Pediatric Hospitalist with at least five years of hospitalist experience and recent inpatient work within the last two years. You should be at ease reading raw medical record data, applying documentation standards, and catching inconsistencies like weight-based dosing errors or age-inappropriate details. Candidates with chart review, CDI, utilization review, or medical coding/QA backgrounds tend to stand out. The role is less suitable for physicians without active inpatient pediatric experience or those who prefer direct patient care over record review. A common reason candidates get rejected is falling short of the 5-year hospitalist threshold or lacking recent inpatient work. Another is inconsistent application of guidelines, which shows up fast in this kind of detailed review.

Compensation is $80 to $125 per hour, and pay is output-based. You are paid per task that meets the project specifications, so the time you spend on each task depends on your experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply, and experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.

Application Tip
In your application, lead with your board certification in Pediatrics and your most recent inpatient hospitalist dates, since the role requires current or recent experience within the last 2 years. Call out any chart review, CDI, or QA work by name and note the volume of records you handled. If you have broad pediatric exposure across nursery, subspecialty co-management, or complex chronic conditions, list those settings too. Specific dates and record counts help reviewers confirm your fit faster than general statements.
