Overview

Mercor wants senior electrical engineers to grade the evaluation work behind AI systems that reason about enterprise electrical design. The scenarios mirror the complexity, safety stakes, and production scale of Fortune 500 manufacturers and large industrial or technology firms. Reviews run on two standards tracks: an International track built on IEC and a US track covering NEC / NFPA 70, NESC, and IEEE. You pick the track that matches your background, or cover both. Each task asks you to test engineering outputs and grading rubrics against how seasoned F500 engineering leaders actually judge a design.

What You'll Do5

  • Assess electrical engineering tasks, reference answers, and supporting artifacts for technical accuracy, realism, and the level of professional complexity they reflect.
  • Verify engineering calculations, design assumptions, analyses, and conclusions on your own against the standards track that applies.
  • Examine design documentation plus CAD or simulation evidence to surface errors, gaps, and assumptions that do not hold together.
  • Score grading rubrics for clarity and specificity, and judge whether they separate real professional engineering judgment from textbook recall.
  • Write direct feedback in plain language and confirm that later revisions fix the problems you flagged.

Requirements5

  • At least 5 years as an electrical engineer or engineering lead inside a Fortune 500 company or a major technology, industrial, or energy firm such as Intel, Texas Instruments, GE, Siemens, Tesla, ABB, or Schneider Electric.
  • Hands-on ownership of large-scale circuit designs, power systems, or engineering certification programs.
  • Working command of enterprise electrical engineering tools and methods.
  • Practical grasp of how safety standards, regulatory certification (NEC / NFPA 70, IEEE, UL, FCC, IEC), and cross-functional design governance operate in production settings.
  • Readiness to review scenarios under either the International (IEC) track or the US (NEC / NFPA 70, NESC, IEEE) track.

Preferred Qualifications2

  • A professional engineering credential, such as a US PE or an international equivalent like CEng or EUR ING.
  • Prior authorship of grading rubrics, engineering training curricula, or design documentation.

Who Should Apply

Electrical engineers with 5 or more years at a Fortune 500 or major industrial, technology, or energy company who have owned large circuit designs, power systems, or certification programs and can defend a design against IEC, NEC, or IEEE standards.

Salary Insight

This engagement pays $90.00 per hour. That rate sits near the top of the range for contract review work and roughly matches what senior PE-credentialed engineers bill for consulting hours.
