Overview
Mercor seeks senior civil engineers to review evaluation tasks for AI systems used in large-scale infrastructure and construction. The work splits into two standards tracks: an international track built on Eurocodes and ISO, and a US track covering ASCE, ACI, AISC, and AASHTO. Reviewers judge civil engineering scenarios, reference outputs, and grading rubrics that reflect how senior engineering leaders reason. Qualified experts in either track or both can apply.
What You'll Do5
- Review civil engineering tasks, reference outputs, and supporting artifacts for technical accuracy, realism, and the complexity expected of senior practice.
- Check calculations, design assumptions, analyses, and conclusions against the relevant standards track on your own.
- Inspect design documentation plus CAD or simulation evidence to flag errors, omissions, and inconsistent assumptions.
- Assess grading rubrics for clarity and specificity, and test whether they separate sound engineering judgment from textbook recall.
- Give clear written feedback and confirm that revised work addresses the issues you raised.
Requirements4
- 5 or more years as a civil engineer or engineering lead.
- Direct ownership of large-scale infrastructure designs, permitting processes, or construction project delivery.
- Fluency with civil engineering tools and methods.
- Understanding of regulatory approvals, environmental review such as NEPA or an international equivalent, and public agency oversight.
Preferred Qualifications2
- Mercor prefers a recognized professional engineering credential such as US PE, CEng, EUR ING, or P.Eng.
- Prior work authoring rubrics, engineering-training curriculum, or design documentation is a plus.
Who Should Apply
Senior civil engineers with 5+ years and direct ownership of major infrastructure work fit this role. The best match brings working knowledge of Eurocodes and ISO or US codes such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, and AASHTO, plus comfort reviewing CAD evidence, calculations, and permitting context.
Salary Insight
The posting lists $90.00/hr. That rate fits a senior specialist review role where Mercor expects independent standards checks and written feedback; confirm expected hours and project length during screening.
