Corporate Law Expert | $90-$100/hr Remote
Overview
Mercor is bringing together senior corporate law professionals to help train AI systems that operate in complex transactions and governance matters. You'll design realistic deal scenarios, craft reference legal documents, and build scoring rubrics that capture how expert lawyers reason. Work is fully remote and spans both US and international legal frameworks, so deep expertise in either track is highly valued.
What You'll Do5
- 1Develop corporate law scenarios centered on large-scale M&A, multi-party deal negotiations, regulatory review, and complex restructuring or governance situations.
- 2Create evaluation tasks across deal structuring, securities and capital markets, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and corporate restructuring.
- 3Build exercises that incorporate real-world legal technology such as Westlaw, Lexis, virtual data rooms like Intralinks and Datasite, contract lifecycle management platforms, and document automation systems.
- 4Draft reference outputs—including legal memoranda, transaction documents, and client- or regulator-facing narratives—aligned to the specific jurisdictional track, whether Delaware/SEC/MBCA or UK/EU.
- 5Write rubrics that separate authentic corporate law judgment from generic law-school or bar-exam-level recall.
Requirements4
- 1At least 5 years of experience as a corporate attorney or general counsel at a major law firm, investment bank, or large public company.
- 2Direct ownership of M&A transactions, corporate governance matters, or securities filings.
- 3Solid command of corporate law tooling and methodology, plus practical understanding of regulatory approvals (SEC review, antitrust/HSR, or international equivalents) and board/shareholder oversight.
- 4A recognized legal credential—such as a JD with bar admission, or an international equivalent like a Solicitor or Qualified Lawyer in England & Wales—is strongly preferred; prior experience with rubrics, legal training curricula, or transaction documentation is a plus.
