Overview

Remote corporate attorney with US license guides AI training by shaping real-world legal input. You’ll analyze and annotate documents across corporate, litigation, bankruptcy, and compliance to improve model understanding. Draft plausible legal scenarios and memos, then assess AI outputs for accuracy and compliance with US law. You’ll help set quality standards for legal data used in AI projects and translate complex principles into machine-readable formats. A JD and bar license plus solid litigation, corporate, bankruptcy, or compliance experience are required.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Annotate and review legal documents across corporate, litigation, bankruptcy, and compliance topics to support AI model development.
  • 2Create realistic legal scenarios, research memos, and hypothetical cases to illuminate complex legal concepts for training data.
  • 3Assess AI-generated legal content for accuracy, clarity, and US-law compliance, and provide precise feedback.
  • 4Help establish guidelines and quality benchmarks for legal data used in AI training initiatives.
  • 5Participate in cross-functional discussions to identify emerging legal risks and trends relevant to AI applications.
  • 6Translate nuanced legal principles into structured formats suitable for computational use.
  • 7Communicate technical legal considerations clearly to multidisciplinary teams in both written and verbal formats.

Requirements5

  • 1Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • 2Active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 33–15 years of substantive experience in litigation, corporate law, bankruptcy, or compliance.
  • 4US-based independent practitioner with track record handling complex legal matters.
  • 5Preference for judicial clerkship experience and for teaching or editorial work in law-related settings.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate holds a JD and is barred in at least one US state, with hands-on experience in litigation, corporate law, bankruptcy, or compliance. You work well translating intricate legal ideas into clear, structured formats for machines and humans alike. This role suits a US-based independent practitioner who can contribute strong analytical reasoning and clear written and spoken communication. It may be less suitable for those without US practice credentials, without experience in the specified domains, or without comfort translating legal concepts for AI use. Common fit gaps include limited exposure to AI training data workflows or lack of demonstrated editorial or instructional experience.

Pay ranges from 90 to 150 per hour; compensation is discussed during the engagement process.
