Overview
SME Careers coordinates the end-to-end lifecycle of domain experts and annotators supporting AI data projects. As a Workforce Experience Specialist, you guide applicants and contractors from application and onboarding through project work and payments. You’ll resolve issues using Slack and Discord and escalate when timely decisions are needed. This hybrid role is contracted via our local partner in Bangladesh and sits with the Dhaka team, reporting to a San Francisco manager who collaborates with US and Europe teams. Shifts follow a 5-day week on a rotating roster, with weekend or night coverage as scheduled.
What You'll Do6
- 1Serve as the primary contact for applicants and contractors across the lifecycle using Slack, Discord, and our support tools.
- 2Collaborate with Talent, Engineering, Finance and project leads to resolve issues and escalate decisions when needed.
- 3Monitor project progress and contractor capacity, reassigning work to keep milestones on track.
- 4Identify recurring issues and translate them into updated FAQs, templates, and SOPs.
- 5Maintain clean issue-tracking and handover notes to ensure smooth shift transitions.
- 6Assist with scheduling and coverage to ensure project capacity aligns with demand.
Requirements5
- 11–3 years in support, community, or operations within AI data, tech, or BPO environments.
- 2Excellent written English with the ability to communicate clearly with global contractors.
- 3Comfort managing multiple workstreams in spreadsheets and using tools such as Slack, Discord, or Jira.
- 4Proactive mindset with persistence to chase issues to resolution.
- 5Nice-to-have: data annotation or QA experience; basic understanding of LLMs; Python or advanced Sheets formulas.
Who Should Apply
Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years in support, community or operations in AI data or tech, plus strong written communication for a global contractor base. This role suits people who enjoy coordinating cross‑functional work and creating better self‑help resources. It may not be ideal for someone seeking a purely back‑office, low‑interaction position. The job requires handling multiple streams and adapting to a rotating shift schedule with weekend or night coverage. You’ll be contracted through a Bangladesh partner and collaborate closely with a San Francisco manager and international teams.
