Overview

Remote contractor role for a Visual Designer focused on decks and presentations. You will craft expert-level slides using brand assets, reference decks, and structured inputs to train next generation AI systems. Your work will establish gold-standard decks that demonstrate refined typography, grid, hierarchy, and a consistent visual system. You will define what on-brand and polished design means for different tasks and build evaluation rubrics to measure model outputs against visual craft and template adherence.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Design and author high-quality presentation tasks drawing from reference decks, brand assets, and structured inputs
  • 2Create gold-standard decks that showcase precise typography, grid work, hierarchy, and a strong visual system
  • 3Set concrete criteria for on-brand and polished presentation design across varied tasks
  • 4Develop visual rubrics that assess model outputs for visual craft, style consistency, and template use
  • 5Identify and flag visual issues specific to AI design such as misaligned grids, inconsistent hierarchy, and off-brand elements
  • 6Provide clear feedback and reasoning in both written and verbal form to articulate visual standards
  • 7Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate on tasks, templates, and evaluation methods as the project evolves

Requirements8

  • 13–5 years of experience in agency, in-house brand/communications, or independent deck design
  • 2Advanced typography, layout, color usage, iconography, and grid systems skills
  • 3Ability to build, extend, and apply visual template systems across slide types
  • 4Proven ability to infer and replicate visual styles from reference decks with high accuracy
  • 5Portfolio of high-craft presentation work (board, pitch, sales decks, brand system projects)
  • 6Expert PowerPoint and/or Keynote proficiency; strong familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite
  • 7Experience creating evaluation rubrics or participating in AI training projects is a plus
  • 8Experience redesigning templates at scale for data-rich decks is valued

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate is a deck designer with 3–5 years of proven work across agencies or in‑house teams, fluent in typography, layout, and grid systems, and capable of building and applying visual templates. This role may not be a fit for someone without strong presentation craft or who cannot match reference deck styles with high accuracy. Common reasons for a lower fit include limited experience with templates at scale or a portfolio that lacks complex, data-driven decks. Candidates who lack PowerPoint or Keynote proficiency or who cannot articulate visual standards may score lower on fit.

Salary Insight

Pay is hourly and ranges from 20 to 60 USD. Specific rates are discussed with selected experts.
