Design Expert (Multidisciplinary) | $20-$70/hr Remote
Overview
This is a contract role for a seasoned multidisciplinary designer who wants to apply their craft in a unique way — helping to train the next generation of AI systems. You'll evaluate and refine design-related materials, from UX/UI flows to visual identity assets, providing feedback that directly improves how AI models understand great design. No prior AI experience is needed; your domain expertise is the key ingredient.
What You'll Do7

- 4Work closely with AI training teams to keep design standards aligned with current industry best practices and evolving trends.
- 5Apply your deep knowledge of typography, color theory, and branding to help AI tools produce more realistic, user-centered results.
- 6Champion user-centered design thinking and maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity in all reviewed content.
- 7Maintain a sharp eye for detail while bringing creative concepts to life, ensuring every piece meets a high bar for quality.
Requirements7
- 1At least 3 years of hands-on, multidisciplinary design experience with a strong portfolio that demonstrates your range.
- 2Solid command of typography, layout, and visual design principles, with the ability to apply them critically.
- 3Proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, or similar) for creating and reviewing design assets.
- 4Expertise in wireframing, prototyping, and a user-centered design process that balances aesthetics with functionality.
- 5Ability to analyze and refine branding and visual identity elements, from logos to full design systems.
- 6Up-to-date knowledge of UX/UI fundamentals and current industry best practices, including design systems and digital product trends.
- 7Preferred: experience evaluating educational content or working in an AI training context, plus a background in both agency and in-house settings.
