Overview
micro1 is hiring a remote contractor to work as a UI/UX Designer on a client project that feeds design examples into AI training systems. You will produce graphics, layouts, and interfaces that help next-generation models learn from real-world user experience. The position pays $30-$80 per hour and requires no prior AI knowledge. Your expertise in Figma, typography, and interaction design is what matters most.

- 2Create and iterate on UI/UX wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and reusable design systems in Figma.
- 3Apply typography expertise to strengthen readability and maintain brand consistency across digital products.
- 4Analyze design iterations and deliver precise, constructive feedback to improve usability and visual quality.
- 5Document design processes, rationale, and decisions in clear written and verbal formats.
- 6Contribute practical insights on user interactions and usability best practices drawn from real-world projects.
- 7Coordinate with a remote team and submit deliverables on schedule according to project milestones.

- 2Expert command of Figma and other current design tools used in product development.
- 3A solid grasp of typography, color theory, and layout for digital products.
- 4Clear and detailed communication, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on explaining design choices.
- 5Track record of giving and receiving constructive feedback while tackling complex design problems.
- 6Comfortable working independently in a remote, self-directed environment.
- 7Bonus: experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a seasoned UI/UX designer with 5+ years of experience and a portfolio that demonstrates real impact. You should be an expert in Figma and comfortable owning design decisions from wireframe to final deliverable. If you thrive on in-person collaboration or need constant supervision, this remote contract might not match your style. Candidates often get rejected when their portfolio lacks measurable outcomes, or when they struggle to articulate the reasoning behind their design choices.
