Overview

SME Careers, a SuperAnnotate subsidiary, hires Telugu specialists to improve AI language output on a remote freelance basis. You review AI-generated Telugu text, write reference answers, and judge how well responses follow prompts. The work spans accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural fit, and logical reasoning, with written feedback that explains each judgment. Some assignments focus on ARC science benchmark translations, where you compare a current Telugu version and an AI correction against the English source. Telugu grammar, cultural adaptation, and translation QA sit at the center of the role.

What You'll Do10

  • Review AI-generated Telugu content or draft high-quality Telugu reference material for model training.
  • Rate several AI responses against each other for correctness, reasoning, and overall quality.
  • Check outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural fit, and prompt adherence.
  • Flag meaning errors, mistranslations, register mismatches, ambiguity, and breaks in logical consistency.
  • Verify factual claims when a response introduces details that need confirmation.
  • Write model answers and rewrites that show strong Telugu writing practice.
  • Compare existing ARC science benchmark translations and AI-proposed corrections with the English source.
  • Limit review to question and answer choices while preserving meaning, difficulty, answer structure, scientific terms, and protected elements.
  • Choose an outcome for each item: keep the original, accept the AI correction, edit the final translation, or escalate.
  • Add a short review comment that supports the decision and follows core and language-specific guidelines.

Requirements8

  • Bachelor's degree in linguistics, Telugu or English literature, communications, journalism, translation, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
  • Native or near-native Telugu reading and writing ability.
  • English proficiency at C1 or above for guidelines, feedback, and team communication.
  • Three or more years of professional work in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or another language-focused role.
  • Command of Telugu grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style, with the ability to explain an error and its fix.
  • Experience with formal and informal registers, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana usage, and audiences in India and the diaspora.
  • Sharp eye for subtle meaning shifts, literal translation, invented claims, and phrasing that clashes with local culture.
  • Reliable self-direction and consistent output in a remote, hourly contractor schedule across time zones.

Preferred Qualifications2

  • Prior experience with AI data training or annotation
  • Translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation background

Who Should Apply
