Overview
Lead a 6 to 10 person engineering team building a B2B supply marketplace that handles product catalogues, pricing, ordering, payments, and vendor onboarding. You will write and review production code across Vue.js and Node.js, own MongoDB data modelling decisions, and keep a live, revenue-generating platform stable. The role also expects daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, plus spec-driven development practices. You will act as the main technical contact between the India team and the UAE product and business stakeholders, managing overlap hours and async documentation.
What You'll Do10
- 1Write, review, and merge production code across the Vue.js frontend and Node.js backend.
- 2Set code review standards for the India team and refactor technical debt.
- 3Debug full-stack issues, from Vue rendering problems to MongoDB aggregations to Kubernetes pod failures.
- 4Guide engineers on daily development decisions and step in on unsolved problems.
- 5Design new modules from spec to schema to API contract to implementation.
- 6Own MongoDB data modelling: document structure, embedding versus referencing, and index strategy.
- 7Review Node.js service design, including API structure, error handling, validation, authentication, rate limiting, and background processing.
- 8Make and document build-versus-buy calls on third-party services, weighing cost and integration effort.
- 9Run sprint planning, estimation, standups, and retros for the India team.
- 10Line-manage 6 to 10 engineers across web, mobile, and QA through 1:1s, feedback, and performance conversations.
Requirements10
- 18 to 12 years in software engineering with at least 2 to 3 years leading a team of 5 or more engineers.
- 2Strong, current, hands-on Vue.js experience: component architecture, state management, and performance optimisation.
- 3Strong, current, hands-on Node.js and Express experience building production APIs at scale.
- 4Deep MongoDB experience: aggregation pipelines, index design, query performance tuning, and schema decisions for growing datasets; Atlas experience preferred.
- 5Working understanding of Flutter: widget architecture, state management, platform channels, and Play Store and App Store release pipelines.
- 6AWS experience, particularly Kubernetes/EKS: deployments, resource limits, health probes, autoscaling, and production logs and metrics.
- 7Demonstrable daily use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Gemini CLI in a professional setting, with real examples.
- 8Experience with spec-driven development: writing structured requirement and design documents.
- 9Git and CI/CD skills: branching strategy, review workflow, and automated pipelines.
- 10Background in B2B e-commerce, wholesale/distribution, or marketplace platforms preferred.
Who Should Apply
