Strategic Project Lead, Finance | $80-$90/hr Remote
Overview
The Strategic Project Lead (SPL) at micro1 is responsible for managing a team of domain experts, with a strong focus on finance, to train frontier AI models. They oversee complex finance-specific data pipelines, ensure data integrity and scalability, and communicate directly with top AI Lab customers. The role involves end-to-end project ownership, team management, and reporting to the CEO and Head of Human Data.
What You'll Do7
- 1Own projects end to end, ensuring top AI Lab clients are extremely happy
- 2Own and manage complex, finance-specific data pipelines, improving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- 3Manage teams of Human Data Managers and Leads reviewing the work of subject-matter experts in Finance
- 4Communicate directly with top AI Labs on massive, high-impact projects
- 5Work with Human Data Engineers to define, track, and optimize KPIs across finance-driven workflows
- 6Provide executive-level insights and updates on key projects, data performance, and operational impact
- 7Report directly to the CEO and Head of Human Data

- 1Exceptional soft skills and stakeholder management ability, especially when working with senior finance domain experts
- 2Willingness to work long hours, including weekends, in a fast-moving startup environment
- 3Strong startup and entrepreneurial mindset
- 4Background in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, or strong exposure to financial systems and data
- 52+ years in a leadership role driving operational processes, managing large-scale or finance-heavy data projects, or optimizing complex workflows
- 6Passion for building from the ground up, identifying inefficiencies, and executing solutions rapidly in high-stakes environments

Salary Insight
Base salary range of $180,000 – $230,000 USD per year, plus equity, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance reimbursement, PTO, and 401(k) match.
