Software Engineer, New Grad (Zara) | $60-$80/hr Remote
Overview
This is a full-time, remote new-grad role for software engineers who want to dive into building real, customer-facing product features from day one. You'll work on improving Zara, an AI-powered recruiter, and gradually take full ownership of core parts of the system—all while receiving mentorship from senior engineers. The environment is fast-paced and focused on shipping quality code, so you'll be encouraged to make smart speed-versus-quality tradeoffs as you grow.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and build full-stack features that power essential product workflows, from backend logic to user interface.
- 2Develop clean, maintainable backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, with close guidance from senior engineers.
- 3Create and ship frontend components directly to real users, using React and modern UI practices.
- 4Contribute to data modeling decisions and learn how to keep the database performant and scalable as the product grows.
- 5Partner with product managers and designers to turn concepts into working features you'll own and iterate on.
- 6Participate in code reviews, write tests, and help improve engineering quality across the team.
- 7Debug production issues and learn what it takes to keep a live, reliable system running smoothly.
Requirements6
- 1A recent or upcoming degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 2Hands-on coding experience from internships, academic projects, or personal work—especially with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- 3Familiarity with React (or a similar frontend framework) and Node.js for backend development.
- 4Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, plus an understanding of basic data modeling concepts.
- 5A solid grasp of how APIs work and how different applications communicate over the web.
- 6Strong curiosity, a drive to learn fast, and a disciplined attention to detail.

Salary Insight
Base salary ranges from $110,000 to $150,000 per year, plus equity and performance bonuses. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package including up to 100% reimbursement for health insurance premiums, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match.
