Overview

micro1 seeks seasoned industrial trades professionals to lend their expertise to a customer's specialized project. Your practical knowledge will help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn and reason. You'll review technical documents like mechanical installation drawings, millwright documentation, and stage lighting plots, providing expert commentary. No AI experience is needed; your trade background is what counts. The role is contractor-based, about 10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule you control.

What You'll Do7

  • Examine mechanical installation drawings, millwright documentation, and specialty trade plans for accuracy and clarity.
  • Provide expert analysis of field diagrams, inspection sketches, and site layout documentation.
  • Assess pest control layouts, textile production schematics, and stage lighting plots against industry standards.
  • Answer trade-specific questions based on real project documents, offering step-by-step reasoning and technical justifications.
  • Write structured, clear responses suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate remotely with project coordinators, submitting assessments within agreed timelines.
  • Contribute insights to improve the accuracy and applicability of modeled processes using your practical experience.

Requirements8

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in industrial trades such as millwright, mechanical installation, textiles, specialty trades, pest control, or lighting design.
  • Journeyman or licensure status strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to interpret and critique technical documents, plans, and schematics in your trade specialty.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, detail, and instructive reasoning.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities and a track record of guiding peers or juniors in trade contexts.
  • Comfort working independently and remotely, managing deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with digital collaboration tools and document-sharing platforms.
  • Experience reviewing or developing training or reference materials for trades practitioners is a plus.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate brings at least 7 years of hands-on industrial trades experience, preferably with journeyman or licensure status. You should be skilled at reading and critiquing technical plans and schematics, and able to explain your reasoning clearly in writing. If you enjoy sharing practical knowledge and working independently, this role fits.
