Overview
micro1 seeks Senior Technical Documentation, Parts and Annotation Specialists to apply deep domain expertise to a customer's project. Your work will help train next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality, real-world input. You will transform engineering drawings and BOMs into assembly procedures, identify industrial parts from photos and catalogs, interpret production patterns, and conduct QA on annotated image batches. No prior AI experience is required; your domain knowledge is what matters.
What You'll Do7
- Convert engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) into precise, dependency-correct assembly procedures for technical manuals.
- Identify, verify, and document industrial replacement parts and components using photos, nameplates, and manufacturer or distributor catalogs, ensuring accurate fitment and application details.
- Interpret production patterns, markers, and cutting-room plans for apparel or industrial fabrication, checking layout efficiency and technical correctness.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on annotated image batches, adjudicating label accuracy against project ontologies and annotation guidelines.
- Produce clear, defensible rationales for decisions and recommendations, capturing expert thought processes for model training.
- Review and refine real-world documents, photos, patterns, or annotation data, delivering outputs at the standard expected from a senior practitioner.
- Collaborate remotely with project coordinators, submitting deliverables through digital platforms within agreed timelines.
Requirements7
- Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more domains: mechanical technical writing, industrial parts/application analysis, production pattern planning, or computer vision annotation quality assurance.
- Exceptional proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation, or demonstrated expertise with parts identification and catalog research.
- Strong analytical, visual, and spatial reasoning abilities, particularly in pattern interpretation or assembly process documentation.
- Proven track record of producing clear, structured, and accurate records, reports, or manuals to industry standards.
- Experience adjudicating or reviewing work within complex ontologies or quality control environments.
- Comfort working autonomously and communicating reasoning in written form for project documentation.
- Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms and remote project participation is a plus.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in mechanical technical writing, industrial parts analysis, pattern planning, or annotation QA. You interpret engineering drawings and BOMs with ease, identify parts from photos and catalogs, and apply spatial reasoning to patterns. You write clear rationales and work autonomously on remote projects.
