Senior Accountant Expert – Remote US Contract
Listing checked September 23, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 seeks Senior Accountant Experts to bring deep accounting knowledge to a customer project that trains next-generation AI systems. You will review financial statements, audit procedures, and tax documents, then provide structured feedback that helps models learn how to reason about real-world finance. This is a remote contractor role open to US-based professionals. No AI background is needed. Your financial reporting, audit, and tax compliance experience is what matters.
What You'll Do7
- 1Examine financial reports and statements for accuracy and completeness, then annotate them using established accounting standards.
- 2Evaluate audit procedures across different business scenarios, pointing out gaps, regulatory concerns, and areas where best practices apply.
- 3Build and critique financial models, checking that the logic holds, the numbers are correct, and the output gives useful insight.
- 4Review tax compliance practices and documentation, flagging risks and compliance problems.
- 5Read through legal and financial documents, then give detailed feedback on clarity, correctness, and regulatory alignment.
- 6Write and deliver clear feedback on project materials, both in written form and in conversations with cross-functional teams.
- 7Help develop and assess data sets used for AI training, drawing on any past work with data labeling, annotation, or model evaluation.
Requirements7
- 1At least 5 years of corporate accounting experience, including work on complex financial scenarios.
- 2Solid command of financial reporting, audit procedures, financial modeling, tax compliance, and legal document review.
- 3A track record of giving actionable feedback and communicating findings well in writing and speech.
- 4Prior involvement in human data projects such as data labeling, annotation, RLHF, or model evaluation.
- 5Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- 6Willingness to adapt and learn, with interest in applying accounting expertise in new contexts.
- 7A reliable accounting professional who can work independently and as part of a project team.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a senior accountant with 5+ years of corporate experience who is comfortable reviewing financial statements, audit procedures, financial models, and tax documents, and who can explain findings in clear written and verbal feedback. Candidates who have worked on data labeling, annotation, RLHF, or model evaluation will stand out. The role is less suitable for someone who only wants traditional in-house accounting work or who dislikes detailed document review. A common reason candidates get rejected is that they list accounting skills without showing how they applied them to complex, real-world scenarios. Another is failing to demonstrate prior human data project experience, which is a preferred qualification here.
