Overview
As a remote, hourly contractor with SME Careers, you will craft detailed AI data training content and evaluate AI-generated tax and audit responses for accuracy and clarity. You’ll produce precise explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods, and you will rate several responses for accuracy and reasoning quality. You will identify errors in tax treatment, compliance logic, and audit methodology, and assess how they affect internal controls and financial reporting linkages. This work supports SME Careers and its AI data services network, helping create high-quality training data used by leading labs and clients.

- 1Create comprehensive AI training content with prompts and gold-standard outputs covering tax scenarios, audit programs, workpapers, control assessments, and technical explanations.
- 2Evaluate AI-generated tax and audit responses for accuracy, clarity, compliance alignment, and practical usefulness.
- 3Rank and compare multiple responses, identifying gaps in reasoning, method, and documentation.
- 4Test outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe guidance, or bias; verify reliability across diverse business scenarios.
- 5Draft precise written feedback and develop clear explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods.
- 6Document evaluation results and maintain audit-ready workpapers and reference materials for tax and audit topics.
- 7Collaborate with SMEs, QA teams, and policy interpreters to refine evaluation criteria and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
Requirements9
- 1bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field; CPA/ACCA/EA/CIA or local equivalence is a strong plus.
- 25+ years of professional experience in tax and/or audit (public accounting, advisory, internal audit, or industry).
- 3Strong command of tax fundamentals relevant to your jurisdiction(s): corporate and individual basics, taxable income adjustments, credits/deductions, nexus/permanent establishment awareness, withholding/VAT/GST concepts.
- 4Solid command of audit fundamentals: planning, materiality, risk assessment, control testing, substantive procedures, sampling concepts, and audit evidence quality.
- 5Proven ability to review or prepare workpapers, reconciliations, and documentation that is clear, defensible, and audit-ready.
- 6Understanding of internal controls (segregation of duties, approvals, access controls) with familiarity or experience in SOX concepts.
- 7Exceptional attention to detail and at least C1 English proficiency.
- 8Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- 9Prior experience with AI data training, audit QA, tax technical writing, or policy interpretation is strongly preferred.

Salary Insight
