• Draft respiratory care scenarios that run from initial assessment through the intervention itself, with settings and patient details that mirror acute care.
• Produce reference answers that spell out why each ventilator or airway adjustment makes sense, written so another RT can follow the reasoning.
• Score model responses for physiologic soundness and for risks to patient safety.
• Call out ventilator settings or airway guidance that reads correctly but would cause harm if someone acted on it.
• Keep clinical detail accurate to the credential level and the care setting the scenario describes.
• Turn your own acute care experience into evaluation items that test judgment, not trivia.

Requirements8

• Current RRT credential from the NBRC plus an active, unencumbered state license.
• At least 2 years of acute care work as a respiratory therapist.
• Solid command of ventilator management, arterial blood gas interpretation and airway care.
• Ability to write clinical reasoning in clear English that another therapist can act on.
• Availability of 10 hours per week at minimum, with no ceiling on how much you take on.
• ICU, NICU or ED background preferred.
• ACCS, NPS or RPFT specialty credential a plus.
• Prior preceptor or clinical education work helps.

Who Should Apply

Bedside RTs with 2+ years of acute care who can explain ventilator and airway decisions in plain written English. ICU, NICU or ED experience and a specialty credential like ACCS, NPS or RPFT strengthen a candidacy.
