Overview
Turing seeks a pulmonologist or intensivist to refine large language models such as ChatGPT by evaluating AI responses in pulmonary and critical care medicine. You will design clinical scenarios covering ventilator management, ARDS, COPD exacerbations, and sepsis-driven respiratory failure. The work involves spotting gaps in AI understanding across interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and ICU protocols. Your structured feedback will guide model development for clinical and educational use.
What You'll Do5
- Create and solve complex clinical cases that mirror real pulmonary and critical care practice, including ventilator management, ARDS, and COPD exacerbations.
- Assess AI-generated answers for diagnostic accuracy, clinical judgment, and evidence-based reasoning in pulmonology and intensive care.
- Spot weaknesses in AI knowledge related to interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and ICU protocols.
- Work with AI researchers and medical peers to raise model quality and reliability.
- Deliver structured expert feedback that shapes next-generation AI for clinical and educational applications.
Requirements6
- MD or equivalent degree with active practice within the last 3+ years.
- Board certification or equivalent in Pulmonary Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine.
- Solid command of respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation, lung diseases, and ICU management.
- Ability to explain complex medical reasoning in clear, patient-friendly language.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Education from a top-tier institution (e.g., Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, Oxford).
Preferred Qualifications1
- Familiarity with digital medical tools.
Who Should Apply
Candidates with an MD, active practice within 3 years, and board certification in pulmonary and/or critical care medicine. The role suits someone who can break down complex ICU reasoning for a non-medical audience and has trained at a top-tier institution.
