Overview
Turing seeks a gastroenterologist or hepatologist to refine large language models such as ChatGPT. You will apply your clinical knowledge of GI diagnostics, endoscopic procedures, and liver disease management to help AI systems produce safe, accurate, and empathetic medical reasoning. The work involves crafting complex clinical scenarios and reviewing AI-generated responses for diagnostic precision and evidence-based judgment. Your structured feedback will directly shape next-generation AI tools for clinical and educational use.
What You'll Do5
- Create and solve challenging clinical cases that reflect real-world gastroenterology and hepatology practice, covering areas from IBD and advanced endoscopy to cirrhosis, hepatitis, and GI malignancies.
- Review AI-generated medical responses for diagnostic accuracy, clinical judgment, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines in GI and liver medicine.
- Spot gaps in AI understanding across subspecialties such as motility disorders, pancreaticobiliary disease, and transplant hepatology.
- Work with AI researchers and fellow medical experts to enhance model quality and reliability.
- Deliver structured, expert feedback that guides the development of next-generation AI for clinical and educational applications.
Requirements6
- MD or equivalent degree, with active clinical practice within the last 3+ years.
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology.
- Solid command of GI and liver medicine, including inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, GI oncology, and endoscopic procedures.
- Ability to explain complex medical reasoning in clear, patient-friendly language.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Education from a top-tier institution (e.g., Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, Oxford).
Preferred Qualifications1
- Familiarity with digital medical tools.
Who Should Apply
Candidates with an MD and current or recent practice in gastroenterology or hepatology, plus board certification, will find this role a strong fit. The position suits specialists who can translate complex GI and liver concepts into plain language and who enjoy evaluating clinical reasoning in AI outputs.
