Overview
This remote opportunity invites seasoned public interest attorneys to help train AI systems by designing evaluation tasks. You'll build realistic legal scenarios, craft reference answers, and create scoring guides that capture how expert lawyers reason through civil rights, environmental, and advocacy issues. Work spans either US federal statutes or international human rights and EU environmental frameworks — or both.
What You'll Do5
- 1Develop detailed scenarios covering civil rights litigation, environmental compliance and enforcement, and community advocacy or policy reform efforts.
- 2Create assessment tasks across constitutional and civil rights law, environmental regulation, housing and consumer protection, immigration and asylum, and government accountability.
- 3Build exercises that reflect real workflows using legal research platforms, case management systems for legal aid groups, and regulatory filing tools such as EPA dockets.
- 4Draft reference legal briefs, regulatory comments, and advocacy memoranda aligned with the relevant US or international legal standards.
- 5Write evaluation rubrics that distinguish authentic public interest legal judgment from generic law school or bar exam-level knowledge.
Requirements4
- 1At least 5 years of experience as a public interest attorney at a legal aid organization, advocacy nonprofit, or government agency such as the ACLU, Earthjustice, NRDC, Legal Aid Society, or a state attorney general's office.
- 2Direct ownership of impact litigation, regulatory advocacy, or policy reform initiatives.
- 3Working knowledge of public interest legal tools and a practical understanding of how regulatory processes and legislative advocacy operate.
- 4A JD with bar admission (or an international equivalent) is strongly preferred; prior experience building rubrics, training materials, or policy documents is a plus.
