Overview

micro1 is building an AI evaluation pipeline that simulates complex commercial disputes, and your role is to shape how models reason through multi-turn litigation. You will create realistic case scenarios, direct junior contributors, and evaluate legal output as a neutral reviewer. The engagement is remote, US-based, and relies solely on public or synthetic materials. No prior AI experience is required; your litigation expertise is the core qualification.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Draft complete case files for multi-turn dispute simulations, including facts, parties, legal issues, procedural posture, and initiating documents.
  • 2Supervise junior legal contributors as they produce briefs, motions, discovery plans, and demand letters, correcting the work to meet professional standards.
  • 3Act as a neutral evaluator for every turn in the simulation, reviewing both junior and peer submissions for quality and legal soundness.
  • 4Define success criteria for each litigation stage and turn those criteria into measurable rubrics that guide the AI training pipeline.
  • 5Spot ambiguities, edge cases, and procedural complications that challenge AI performance, and report these findings to the project team.
  • 6Coordinate with team leads and other litigators to stay aligned as specifications and scenario requirements evolve.
  • 7Work exclusively from public or synthetic materials, never using client-confidential information during the engagement.

Requirements7

  • 1Active or lapsed bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction and a license to practice in the US.
  • 2A minimum of 10 years of hands-on US litigation experience, including courtroom advocacy, discovery, motion practice, and leading case teams.
  • 3Deep expertise in at least one of these areas: commercial contract disputes, shareholder/LLC disputes, or commercial real estate litigation; familiarity with multiple areas is a plus.
  • 4Command of the entire litigation lifecycle, from pleadings through discovery, motions, hearings, and settlement strategies.
  • 5Strong written and verbal communication skills, with precise legal drafting and the ability to construct persuasive adversarial arguments.
  • 6A track record of managing junior attorneys and reviewing their work without needing to rewrite it yourself.
  • 7Comfort working in a remote project environment that evolves quickly, with the ability to calibrate collaboratively alongside other legal experts.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate is a licensed US attorney with over a decade of hands-on litigation experience, especially in commercial contract disputes, shareholder disputes, or real estate litigation. You are skilled at directing junior attorneys without taking over their drafting, and you can articulate clear success criteria for each legal task. This role is less suitable for attorneys who prefer traditional legal practice over AI training or who need structured supervision. Common reasons candidates get rejected include missing the 10+ year litigation requirement, lacking fluency in the full litigation lifecycle, or failing to demonstrate the ability to evaluate junior work without redrafting it personally.

Salary Insight

The pay is $100 to $150 per hour, as a contract rate. No other compensation details are provided; you will discuss specifics during the interview.
