Overview

SME Careers, a SuperAnnotate subsidiary, hires an Odia (Oriya) Quality Assurance Lead to keep output steady across its Odia AI training projects. Your day goes into grading AI-generated Odia text and the work of trainers and QA reviewers against project rubrics, with attention to accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, cultural fit, and instruction-following. Written feedback carries the job: you send it to trainers and reviewers, then track the problems that keep repeating. You also run onboarding, keep style guides and trackers current, and re-engage contributors who stop delivering. Work happens on Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and shared dashboards, and the contract pays by the hour.

What You'll Do8

  • Grade AI-generated Odia content and contributor submissions against client rubrics for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural fit
  • Compare translated items with the English source to confirm meaning preservation and flag mistranslation, literal phrasing, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology
  • Check formatting, answer structure, instruction-following, and protection of scientific terminology in benchmark items such as ARC science questions
  • Write short, precise review comments and choose an outcome: keep the original, accept the AI correction, edit the translation, or escalate
  • Spot quality issues that recur across the team and share the pattern with trainers and QA reviewers
  • Onboard new contributors and refresh the guidance they work from
  • Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots, and other quality documentation
  • Contact contributors who fall behind and help them return to steady output

Requirements8

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Odia, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related field
  • Native or near-native Odia reading and writing skill
  • English strong enough to read guidelines, hold team conversations, and write clear feedback
  • 3+ years of professional work in Odia writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, teaching, or annotation
  • Solid command of Odia grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, register, and cultural context
  • Ability to judge content against a detailed rubric and name the exact defect
  • Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, and dashboards while working remote
  • Organized enough to keep several quality docs and trackers current at once

Preferred Qualifications4

  • Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
  • Prior work in AI training, data annotation, or large language model projects
  • Prompt and response evaluation experience
  • Rubric-based LLM quality checks

Who Should Apply

Odia speakers with 3+ years in editing, translation, localization, or content QA who want a hand in shaping AI training data. The role suits someone who reads a rubric line by line, explains problems in plain language, and holds a remote group of reviewers to one standard.

Salary Insight

The contract pays $10 to $30 per hour, a wide band that covers everyone from a mid-level reviewer to an experienced quality lead. Odia language QA work tends to land inside this range, and the top of it goes to people who have run a remote review team and handled AI data before.
