Overview
micro1 is hiring Military Operations & Reporting SMEs to support a customer project that trains next-generation AI systems. You will use your firsthand DoD experience to review and shape military reporting content, from WARs to AARs, so AI outputs match real-world standards. This is a remote contractor role, and no prior AI experience is needed. Your domain knowledge in staff processes and executive reporting is what matters most.
What You'll Do8
- 1Evaluate military and DoD reporting materials for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to actual procedures.
- 2Draw on your experience collecting inputs from multiple teams or staff sections to produce reports and executive updates for senior leaders.
- 3Write detailed feedback on AI-generated reporting content.
- 4Check AI outputs for correct military terminology, reporting standards, and information synthesis.
- 5Create and improve realistic reporting examples and scenarios used to train AI systems.
- 6Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure reporting examples reflect current DoD practices.
- 7Identify gaps or errors in AI-generated reports and suggest corrections.
- 8Maintain consistency in terminology and format across reviewed materials.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of experience in the U.S. Department of Defense as a uniformed service member, DoD civilian, or both.
- 2Direct experience preparing recurring reports or executive updates for senior military or DoD leadership.
- 3Familiarity with reports such as Weekly Activity Reports (WARs), Project/Program Status Reports, Performance/Accomplishment Reports, After-Action Reports (AARs), or Budget Execution Reports.
- 4Background in military operations, plans, headquarters/command staff, program management, executive support, or resource management.
- 5Strong written communication skills and a track record of synthesizing inputs from multiple teams into clear, concise reporting.
- 6Experience as an Operations Officer/NCO, Plans Officer, Action Officer, Staff Officer, Executive Officer, or similar headquarters role is a plus.
- 7Ability to assess written content for military accuracy and clarity.
- 8Comfort working remotely and providing written feedback.

Salary Insight
