Listing checked September 4, 2026 · pay as published by SME Careers
Overview
Remote contract role focused on guiding AI data training by reviewing legal analyses and producing precise explanations. You will assess reasoning quality, identify gaps in legal methodology, and provide structured feedback that maps facts to valid elements and defenses. Citations, rules, and jurisdictional relevance are checked for accuracy, with clear notes for improvement. This assignment supports SME Careers' AI data services by delivering reliable, well-reasoned content to improve model performance.
What You'll Do7
- 1Review AI-generated legal analyses for accuracy and alignment with prompts, delivering written explanations and model solutions.
- 2Develop training prompts and response templates covering topics like Constitutional Law and Civil Procedure.
- 3Rank and annotate model outputs to boost accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
- 4Verify rule statements, check citations, and assess jurisdictional relevance across cases.
- 5Document feedback with structured reasoning paths that teammates can reproduce.
- 6Collaborate with expert reviewers and QA specialists to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
- 7Maintain timely delivery in an hourly remote workflow across time zones.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in law (JD/LLB) or related field with strong grounding in Constitutional Law, Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, and Regulatory/Administrative Law.
- 25+ years of professional experience in law, legal studies, public policy, or political science.
- 3Strong legal reasoning and issue-spotting skills, including statutory interpretation, case analysis, and translating facts into elements and defenses.
- 4Fluent in compliance concepts and policy frameworks; able to identify missing facts and assumptions that change outcomes.
- 5Exceptional attention to detail when checking rule statements, citations, jurisdictional relevance, and logical consistency; minimum C1 English proficiency.
- 6Able to write clear, structured feedback that explains errors and the correct reasoning path without unnecessary verbosity.
- 7Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- 8Preferred: experience with AI data training/annotation, expert review, legal editing, or QA.
Who Should Apply
Ideal candidates hold a mid-senior level track with a JD/LLB and demonstrable work in AI data workflows or legal QA. You should show precise feedback and the ability to map complex cases to statutory elements. This role is less suitable for lawyers without remote, hourly contracting experience or without exposure to AI data training. Candidates with limited English proficiency or weak attention to detail may not fit the workflow. If you thrive in remote, time-zone flexible environments and can deliver high-quality legal insights for AI models, you’re a strong match.
