Overview

SME Careers, the AI data services arm of SuperAnnotate, needs a Gujarati quality lead to keep language training data natural and accurate for foundation-model labs. You review AI-generated Gujarati content along with the output of trainers and reviewers, judging each item against detailed rubrics for grammar, fluency, tone, and cultural fit. Written feedback goes out over Discord and direct messages, and your style guides, trackers, and onboarding sessions set the standard for the whole Gujarati contributor pool. The engagement is hourly, remote, and contractor-based.

What You'll Do9

  • Spot-check Gujarati items across live projects, log quality problems, and send ongoing feedback through direct messages.
  • Escalate repeated or critical quality failures before they spread through the contributor pool.
  • Post new item guidelines, workflow changes, and quality expectations for trainers and QAs on Discord.
  • Answer contributor questions about Gujarati wording, register, translation fidelity, cultural context, and edge cases.
  • Reach out to inactive contributors, encourage them to start work, track follow-ups, and flag availability concerns.
  • Build and maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, worked examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
  • Schedule and run onboarding and training calls that walk trainers and QAs through rubrics, workflows, and Gujarati style requirements.
  • Check that every trainer and QA applies Gujarati language guidelines the same way as projects evolve.
  • Find recurring quality gaps and propose workflow fixes that scale across Gujarati projects.

Requirements8

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Gujarati, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Native or near-native Gujarati reading and writing ability.
  • English strong enough to follow project guidelines, work with remote teams, and give clear written feedback.
  • 3+ years of professional work in Gujarati writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or a similar language-review workflow.
  • Solid command of Gujarati grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, tone, register, and cultural context.
  • Skill at measuring Gujarati content against detailed rubrics and catching mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
  • Organization and attention to detail strong enough to keep style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and honeypots current.

Preferred Qualifications2

  • Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
  • Background in AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt and response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.

Who Should Apply

The role suits a Gujarati language specialist with three or more years in editing, translation, or content QA who wants to steer quality rather than only review items. You read Gujarati closely, write clear English feedback, and enjoy coaching remote contributors through Discord and shared docs.

Salary Insight

Pay runs $20 to $30 per hour for this freelance contractor engagement. That band lines up with mid-level language QA and localization review work, so the upper end usually goes to people with several years of Gujarati editorial or annotation QA experience plus some team coordination behind them.
