Overview
Mercor is looking for senior FP&A professionals to help train AI systems on how financial planning, forecasting, and business analysis actually work. This remote, hourly contract role means designing realistic scenarios, reference outputs, and scoring guides that capture the judgment of experienced finance leaders. You can work on a US GAAP track, an IFRS track, or both.
What You'll Do5
- 1Create realistic FP&A scenarios covering budgeting, forecasting cycles, variance analysis, business partnering, and strategic capital allocation decisions.
- 2Develop tasks that require hands-on financial modeling, investment analysis, and planning work similar to what a large-company finance team handles daily.
- 3Design case studies and exercises using enterprise tools like Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Planful, Tableau, Power BI, and ERP systems.
- 4Produce reference materials such as financial models, forecast decks, variance reports, and business cases aligned to US GAAP or IFRS reporting conventions.
- 5Write clear scoring rubrics that separate genuine FP&A judgment from generic textbook or spreadsheet-template responses.
Requirements4
- 15+ years in a senior finance position such as FP&A leader, Director of FP&A, or CFO at a major organization.
- 2Direct ownership of budgeting cycles, forecasting models, or capital allocation decisions.
- 3Strong command of FP&A tooling and a solid understanding of corporate finance and financial modeling best practices.
- 4Preferred: a CFA, MBA, or CPA credential, plus any prior experience writing rubrics or training materials.
