Corporate Finance Expert | $50-$100/hr Remote
Overview
This remote contract role places your corporate finance expertise at the center of training AI systems. You will craft realistic budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis scenarios that test how well AI models understand financial decision-making. Your work involves building grading rubrics with 35+ criteria to evaluate numerical precision and reasoning quality. No prior AI experience is needed; your domain knowledge is the qualification.
What You'll Do6
- 1Create complex, real-world finance manager evaluation tasks that mirror actual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis workflows.
- 2Assemble authentic supporting materials such as budget spreadsheets, forecast models, reconciliations, and technical documentation.
- 3Define accurate solutions with clear, defensible reasoning for each financial task you author.
- 4Develop detailed grading rubrics (35+ points) that assess numerical rigor, methodological soundness, and narrative quality of AI outputs.
- 5Ensure every task captures the complexity of corporate finance practice, avoiding oversimplified or textbook examples.
- 6Communicate your reasoning clearly in written submissions and verbal check-ins.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of direct experience owning a P&L or managing a significant departmental budget.
- 2Hands-on expertise with month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- 3Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and management, with a track record of error-free numerical work.
- 4Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- 5Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- 6Corporate finance background preferred over pure accounting specialization.
- 7Certifications like CPA, CFA, FMVA, or an MBA are a plus.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of corporate finance leadership, having directly owned a P&L or major budget. You excel at month-end close, variance analysis, and building financial models that produce precise, defensible numbers. If you are a pure accountant without strategic decision-making experience, this role will not fit. Common reasons candidates get rejected include lacking direct budget ownership, submitting oversimplified task examples, or failing to articulate financial reasoning clearly in writing. Strong applicants demonstrate nuanced insights and error-free work under tight deadlines.
Salary Insight
Pay ranges from $50 to $100 per hour, structured as output-based compensation per task. Rates depend on your experience and the complexity of each assignment, with minimum weekly submission requirements. The exact hourly equivalent is discussed during the onboarding process.
