Overview
micro1 seeks experienced financial due diligence and transaction accounting professionals to help build tasks that measure how well AI systems handle complex transaction work. You will review realistic financial analyses, challenge assumptions, and spot material errors. The role requires hands-on work with agentic AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex to support analysis and verify outputs. This is a contract position, remote, with a preference for US/Canada, though UK and Latin America are also considered.
What You'll Do6
- Evaluate financial due diligence, quality-of-earnings, and carve-out analyses for accuracy, completeness, and supporting evidence.
- Flag unsupported adjustments, reconciliation issues, double counting, and inconsistent accounting treatment.
- Use agentic AI tools to assist in reviewing deliverables and to help create realistic transaction materials.
- Develop task instructions and objective grading criteria for AI evaluation.
- Independently verify the quality of AI-generated outputs and challenge assumptions.
- Collaborate with the team to refine evaluation standards and playbooks.
Requirements6
- 5+ years of professional experience with substantive hands-on work in financial due diligence, transaction services, or carve-out financial analysis.
- Direct responsibility for preparing or reviewing transaction-related financial analyses and deliverables. Audit experience or a CPA alone is not sufficient.
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Claude Cowork for substantive work. General chatbot use alone is not sufficient.
- Strong analytical skills to identify material errors and inconsistencies in financial data.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Commitment to at least 10 hours per week, with 20+ hours preferred.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate has at least five years of transaction services or financial due diligence experience, including direct work on quality-of-earnings or carve-out analyses. You must also have practical experience with agentic AI tools like Claude Code or Cursor. A CPA or Big Four background is a plus, but not required.
Salary Insight
The pay range is $60 to $120 per hour, paid per task. Each task takes about 3 hours after an initial 15-hour environment development period. The rate is clearly stated.
Application tip
When applying, highlight specific transaction projects you led, such as quality-of-earnings or carve-out analyses, and name the agentic AI tools you have used for substantive work. Quantify your experience with metrics like deal size or number of analyses reviewed.
